Join us for a diverse and delicious soup luncheon as we respond to hunger in our community. Soup kettles will be available during worship and during the lunch event to receive a special offering for local hunger programs at the Life Center.

Special Event - SEPA Synod Mission Fair
There is a very special event coming up very quickly that I would like to invite you to participate in. Several members of Temple Lutheran have attended the Synod Mission Fair in recent years and have found them to be truly worthwhile and a blessing. Below is a summary of this year's event. If you are interested in attending, please email Pastor Matt quickly. We need to complete our group registration by this weekend. Last year's event filled up in advance!
SEPA Synod Mission Fair
Saturday, October 18th, 8:30am – 3:30pm, St. Matthew, SpringfieldGod has great dreams for our community and our world. How can we be a part of making those dreams come true? We'll start figuring this out together at the 2008 Mission Fair. Our time will be practical, interactive, and spiritual as we explore what we can do to connect God's dream with our time and the specific places we have been placed. The goal is to give you "try this at home" ideas to put into action. Please contact the church office as soon as you decide you would like to attend.

Junior Youth Gatherings October 10-12
Youth in grades 6, 7 & 8 are invited to attend a Junior Youth Gathering with their adult leaders. Two one night gatherings will be held back to back, October 10 & 11 (Friday night), 11 & 12 (Saturday night), 2008. The gatherings will be held at Refreshing Mountain Camp in Lancaster County.
Pastor Matt recently joined the Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) board and will be a part of the staff at both of these gatherings!
This year’s gathering theme is “Inside Out”. We will spend our time together talking about making our “outside” actions and life match the “inside” spirituality and values we are called to lead. The theme text for the gathering is II Corinthians 4:18, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, and what is unseen is eternal.” Christian hip hop artist Agape will be with us at JYG this year to share in this theme through his unique storytelling and musical gifts.
The cost of attending a JYG is $78 if you sign up BEFORE Sunday, September 21. If this cost is the only thing that will keep you from attending a JYG, please contact Pastor Matt along with you parents. We will make sure that you can attend!
