The congregation council of Temple Lutheran Church announces that Temple Lutheran will be the event sponsor for the 2009 Kevin Cain Make My Day 5K. This will be the second year that Temple Lutheran will sponsor this event, which takes place in the Brookline neighborhood of Havertown, including the street in front of our building.
The mission of the Kevin Cain Memorial Foundation is to help people living with cancer, as well as their families, by providing monetary relief for medicines and other items needed in their daily lives. The Kevin Cain Memorial Foundation was established in April 2006 in memory of Kevin Cain, who lost his courageous battle with cancer in June 2005. Kevin is remembered as someone who made a difference in the lives of others by coaching youth sports and volunteering his time for worthy causes. Despite his illness, he continued to coach and mentor children in the community. Kevin was and continues to be an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
The 2009 event is scheduled for Sunday, April 5th.
